A More Perfect Union:
Uniform Laws in New York State

Wednesday, April 24, 2019 | 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

  • This program will describe the history, purpose and procedures of the Uniform Law Commission, examples of proposed uniform laws, as well as laws in development, and opportunities for involvement by volunteers. The ULC, a nationwide non-profit, non-partisan law reform group formed in 1892, drafts suggested acts in areas of the law in which uniformity among the states is desirable. New York has adopted, among others, the Uniform Commercial Code, Uniform Transfers to Minors Act and the Revised Uniform Fiduciary Access to Digital Assets Act. Many other uniform laws have been proposed and adopted in other states but not New York. The program will highlight a few current proposed uniform laws that might be considered by the New York Legislature.

Live Program & Webcast: $49 for Members | $99 for Nonmembers
    Law Students: $25 for Members

Members who are Recent Law Graduates, Newly Admitted Lawyers (earliest admission 2017-2019 in any state or country), In-House/Corporate Counsel, Judges (and their staff), or attorneys that practice within the Government, Academic or Not-for-Profit sectors attend this program for free.
