This program will provide an overview on the current state of the law, both state and federal. In the realm of state law, the program will include an up to date account on the law revision commission, New York Attorney General's legislative proposals, other reform proposals and the importance of simplifying and lessening burdens in New York. On the federal side the program will include a discussion of possible limitations on or elimination of the charitable deduction and a possible rethinking of what it means to be a charity under federal law.
