New York City Bar Announces 2013 Kathryn A. McDonald Award Winners

New York, April 24, 2013 – The New York City Bar Association has announced the winners of this year’s Kathryn A. McDonald Awards, which are presented annually for excellence in service to the Family Court. This year’s recipients, Michael Williams and Judith Waksberg, have dedicated their abilities and leadership skills throughout their careers to the Family Court and the population that it serves.

Williams currently serves as the Clerk for the Bronx Family Court. Waksberg is the Director of the Appeals Unit at The Legal Aid Society’s Juvenile Rights Practice.

The honorees will receive their awards at a City Bar reception on May 6th at 6:00 p.m. Hon. Jonathan Lippman, Chief Judge of the New York State Court of Appeals, will present the awards.

The Kathryn A. McDonald Award is named in honor of the former Supervising Judge of the New York City Family Court and is sponsored by the City Bar’s Committees on Children and the Law; Family Court and Family Law; Juvenile Justice; Domestic Violence and its Council on Children.
