“Judge Bolin was a trailblazer. She was the first black woman to graduate from Yale Law School in 1931, the first to join the New York City Bar Association, and the first to join the New York City Law Department. Despite all this, she wasn’t concerned about her status. For Judge Bolin, her career was all about the work.”
