Careers in Technology Law: The Practice Demystified
June 27th, 6:30-8:30 pm

Technology law is a multi-disciplinary field that touches on intellectual property, contract law, consumer protection and privacy. But what does it really mean to practice technology law? In this program, practitioners from three diverse settings: a law firm, a government agency, and a non-profit organization, will discuss what practicing tech law involves for their industries, the differing career paths available, and the areas of growing opportunities. Careers in Immigration
July 18th, 6:30-8:30 pm

Over forty percent (40%) of New York's population was born abroad. Immigration law touches almost every aspect of legal practice. The field itself is constantly changing. Despite a slow down in many fields of law, immigration is one where the need and the demand for immigration attorneys has been rising. At this program a panel of seasoned practitioners will discuss the many dimensions of immigration law from individual representation to corporate immigration practice. [more]

Careers in Compliance
August 13th, 6:30-8:30 pm

Over the past few years, increased transparency has been a dominant trend in several industries, including privacy and data security; health care; and financial services fields. The demand for increased transparency both by the government and special interest groups has required companies to scrutinize their current practices and implement policies and procedures that promote an ethical environment. Compliance professionals within these industries are tasked with leading their respective company’s compliance and ethics initiatives. [more]
