Professional Discipline Committee
The Professional Discipline Committee reviews the procedures and performance of attorney disciplinary agencies in New York City and recommends rule and policy changes to the Appellate Divisions and Office of Court Administration to improve both. The Committee also prepares and files amicus briefs in appropriate cases, sponsors CLE programs on professional ethics-related topics, works with the Professional Responsibility and Professional Ethics Committees on joint projects to amend and improve the Rules of Professional Conduct and other ethics-related statutes, and oversees the City Bar's Complaint Mediation Program, which seeks to amicably resolve minor client complaints referred by the Departmental Disciplinary Committee in the First Department.
