General Information

Access to the Library

Members have unrestricted library access. Library passes may be purchased by non-members who are sponsored by a City Bar member. Library passes are sold in booklets of ten for $300; single day passes are available for $40. Passes may be obtained in the Library Administration Office, located on the Fourth Floor, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday.

Library Catalog

A link to the library catalog is on the desktop of every reading room computer. Remote access to the catalog is available by clicking on the Online Catalog link. Materials published prior to 1980 are in the Library’s traditional print catalog. Our reference staff is available to assist you either in person or by phone (212) 382-6666.

Lost and Found

Inquiries should be made in the lobby of the building at the Security/Information Desk.

Microforms

The reader/printers make plain paper copies at .30 per page. Our staff will be glad to assist you in providing the best copy available. The clarity of the copy is directly related to the quality of the fiche or film.

Requesting Books

Books not shelved on the 4th floor may be requested at the Reference Desk. Periodicals, older case reporters, superseded codes and treatises are available on request. Retrieval time is about 15 minutes or less.

Summer Associate Passes

All law students and interns employed by a member of the Association during the summer recess may request free access to the library from May – August.
