NY Bar Aims To Help Uninitiated With Arbitrator Appointments (subscription required)

“The New York City Bar Association’s arbitration committee has released a report detailing arbitrator appointment procedures of various arbitral institutions for commercial proceedings to help guide parties who lack extensive experience, according to a Monday notice. The April report describes the procedures used to appoint arbitrators in a number of institutions across the globe, and is meant to serve as a cheat sheet for interested parties who may be unfamiliar with the arbitral process. ‘The aim of this report is to bring together information that is not easily accessible to arbitration users and counsel without extensive research and experience,’ the committee said. ‘The report provides guidance on arbitrator appointment options that may not be readily apparent from the institution’s arbitration rules and website.'”
