City Bar Releases 2016 Legislative Agenda

Ethics reform and passage of the Judiciary’s requested budget are some of the New York City Bar Association‘s legislative priorities in Albany for the this year. The city bar’s state legislative agenda covers a range of topics, from urging passage of the Office of Court Administration’s proposed $1.89 billion general fund budget to ethics and campaign finance reform for state elected officials. Likewise, the agenda released Wednesday also advocates measures such as amendments that offer partial wage replacement to workers needing time off to care for a newborn or seriously ill family members, as well as enhanced legal protections for art authenticators who give good faith opinions about a work’s authenticity.
