City Bar Opposes New Restrictions on Refugees
The New York City Bar Association is urging leaders of the U.S. Senate to resist passage of bills that would restrict immigration to the United States sought by those fleeing “horrific violence” in Syria and Iraq. Instead, city bar president Debra Raskin wrote to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Minority Leader Harry Reid saying Congress should be supporting measures to increase refugee admissions into this country.
