City Bar Goes to Washington

Capitol Building

On April 10, Senior Policy Counsel Maria Cilenti went to Washington, D.C. to meet with New York representatives to discuss the City Bar’s concerns regarding the imposition of case quotas in immigration courts and the increasing number of immigration enforcement actions taking place in New York State courthouses, as well as the City Bar’s support for passage of the Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act. On April 11, as part of the New York State Bar delegation, Cilenti participated in ABA Lobby Day, urging New York representatives to continue their support for full funding of the Legal Services Corporation and the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
