City Bar Gives Top Rating to Chief Judge Candidates

All seven candidates the Commission on Judicial Nomination recommended for the post of chief judge, which will soon be vacated, were rated as “well qualified” by the New York City Bar Association. The city bar rates candidates as either “well qualified” or “not well qualified.” The group on Friday said it arrived at the ratings after representatives of the city bar’s executive, judicial and state courts of superior jurisdiction committees interviewed each candidate and reviewed their backgrounds, writings and other qualifications.
