City Bar Applauds ABA’s Decision on Academic Credit for Law Student Externships

The New York City Bar Association applauds the ABA for lifting its prohibition on law schools giving academic credit to students who work for private employers. Lifting the prohibition was one of the recommendations of the City Bar’s Task Force on New Lawyers in a Changing Profession, which was formed to address difficulties among law students and new lawyers, including lack of practical experience, diminished job prospects and rising debt.
