- May 1, 2013 -- The City Bar released its "Policy Recommendations for New York City's Next Mayor", a collaborative effort of two dozen Association committees. - March 18, 2013 -- Mayor Bloomberg signed into law two pieces of legislation (Int. 0982-2012 and Int. 0989-2012) aimed at limiting the City’s collaboration with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (“ICE”) with respect to the holding of immigrant New Yorkers subject to ICE detainers. This legislation was supported by the Criminal Courts, Civil Rights, Corrections & Community Reentry, Domestic Violence, and Immigration & Nationality Law Committees.
- March 15, 2013 -- The Legal Problems of the Aging Committee has issued four reports this month on issues such as the Uniform Guardianship & Protection Proceedings Jurisdiction Act, the proposed NYS Health and Mental Hygiene Budget as it relates to interim Medicaid services and spousal refusal in community settings, and Managed Long Term Care Plans.
