National Moot Court

Since 1950, the New York City Bar and the American College of Trial Lawyers have sponsored this National Moot Court Competition.

65th Annual National Moot Court Competition Quicklinks

Every year, over 150 law schools compete in the regional rounds throughout the U.S., and the winners advance to the final rounds held at the New York City Bar. This widely–recognized National Moot Court Competition allows law students to hone their appellate advocacy skills by arguing before prominent members of our profession.

The 2013 winner of the final round was Stetson University School of Law comprised of Andrew Harris, Julia McGrath, and Victoria San Pedro. The University of Georgia School of Law was the runner-up team, comprised of Lucas Bradley, Michael Gretchen, and Matthew Noller.
Best Brief honors went to the University of Utah School of Law comprised of team members Laurie E. Abbott, Nathanael James Mitchell and Dick J. Baldwin.
Runner Up Best Brief was awarded to Regent University School of Law’s team, Paul Bailey, Andrew Kartchner, and Jessica Pak.
Best Individual Speaker went to Michael Gretchen of the University of Georgia School of Law.
Runner-Up Best Individual Speaker went to Julia McGrath of the Stetson University School of Law.
