Scholarships & Discounts

Financial scholarships are available for traditional & non-traditional program formats. An application must be submitted in writing at least three (3) weeks before the date of which the CLE course or program is scheduled. Applications received less than three (3) weeks before the program shall be denied. Download the Financial Scholarship Application (PDF).

A 50% discount will be granted to attorneys working for government agencies, public interest groups, full-time students and full-time academics.

*Attorneys working for the District Attorney’s office, U.S. Attorney’s office, Legal Aid, New York Inspector General’s office and other criminal law organizations are entitled to pay $40 member, $70 non-member for some criminal law programs.

*Restrictions may apply to some programs.

Attorneys working for the Securities & Exchange Commission are entitled to pay $40 member, $70 non-member for 2-3 hour securities law programs only; $85 member, $145 non-member for full-day or two-evening securities law programs only. Regardless of your eligibility for a discount, you may still apply for a financial scholarship.

A 20% discount off of member and non-member prices is available for firms and corporations that register 4 or more people for the same program or video replay.

Discounts for Small Law Firms

The City Bar Center for CLE will implement the following for firms with fewer than 10 attorneys:

  • DVDs* can be viewed in the library for 50% off the cost of a live program. Attorneys would need to pre-register at least one day in advance to view the DVD.
  • Currently, individual passports are available whereby essentially for the price of 5 programs or products you receive a 6th one free. For attorneys in firms with fewer than 10, they would only need to attend or purchase 2 programs to receive the 3rd for free.
  • A 20% discount is currently offered if 4 or more attorneys from the same firm attend a program. For attorneys working in firms with fewer than 10 the 20% discount will be made available if 2 or more attorneys attend the same program.

In addition, financial scholarships are available for traditional & non-traditional program formats. The DVD and book will be in the Library on the 4th floor. A computer will be made available but if you prefer feel free to bring your laptop. In order to guarantee the DVD and book are in stock, we request you give us as much advance notice as possible.
