Education & the Law Committee
The Education and Law committee addresses the full range of legal issues surrounding education from pre-K through higher education, including education finance, governance, legislative proposals, and special education. Recent topics have included: the impact of a property tax cap on education finance, New York State's Race to the Top application and associated legislative amendments pertaining to charter schools and teacher evaluation, civic education, and mayoral control of the New York City school system.
