Alita T. Wingfield

Alita T. Wingfield is an Executive Director in the Legal and Compliance Division (“LCD”) of Morgan Stanley. She is the Managing Attorney of the Global Litigation Group and is responsible for writing litigation policies and procedures, providing advice on regulatory reporting, managing and coordinating matter intake, matter management, internal risk reporting, litigation disclosures, legal reserves, SOX and internal audit testing, and assisting the Chief Operating Office of LCD on various LCD-wide projects and initiatives.

Alita is the Chair of the LCD Supplier Diversity Initiative, aimed at increasing LCD use of minority- and women-owned law firms. She is also the former Chair and an active member of the Legal and Compliance Division’s Diversity Committee. The Committee is involved in several programs and initiatives, including programs to share best practices with outside counsel law firms, several initiatives focused on women issues, a summer intern program for first year law students, Legal Outreach (a college prep and legal education not-for-profit), and the South African Fellows Program. Under Alita’s Leadership, Morgan Stanley and LCD was recognized by the New York City Bar as the 2011 Diversity Fellowship Employer of the Year; by Chambers and Partners as the Most Female-Friendly Company; by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) as the 2012 Employer of Choice (Northeast Region); and was included by the Association of Corporate Counsel in their 2013 list of Leading Practices in Law Department Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives.
