Corporation Law Committee

The mission of the Corporation Law Committee is to promote the development of New York laws and jurisprudence governing business entities in order to make New York a more attractive jurisdiction for the formation of new business entities and for the conduct of business.

To achieve its mission the Committee will, as it deems appropriate:

Legislation. Review, comment on, and propose changes to the statutes governing business entities.

Case Law. Review the structure of the New York court system as it relates to business disputes, review New York decisions governing business entities and, where appropriate, file amicus curiae briefs, or propose legislation.

Education. Educate the members of the Bar and the business community regarding developments in the laws governing business entities, assist in the efficient practice of law through the development of sample agreements and promote the development of an ethical, effective and diverse corporation law Bar.

Practical. Coordinate with appropriate branches of government with regard to the laws governing New York business entities and the administration thereof.
