  • This program offers an overview of ethical problems that arise across a range of practice areas. Members of the Committee on Professional Discipline will present short vignettes which, while often entertaining, are actually based on true experiences in actual law practice. Many CLE programs offer a detailed look at specific ethical issues, or ethical issues just within certain specialties. This program, however, is an overview of problems that arise for many different kinds of lawyers today. Experts in professional responsibility and attorney discipline from the bar and the judiciary will provide real world commentary on those situations. Attendees will not be memorizing section numbers from the New York Rules of Professional Conduct – these will be “Views You Can Use” in your own development as a professional, ethical lawyer. Expect the vignettes to touch on attorney accounting, discovery, social media, supervision of other attorneys and staff, and that opposing counsel you just hate to deal with… among other things.
