This cross-disciplinary program will provide an overview of significant developments in the practice of consumer health law. Experienced practitioners will discuss how the Affordable Care Act will impact purchasers of health insurance; class actions and mass actions involving health, disability and long-term care insurance; and cutting edge issues in patient privacy rights and provider and health plan privacy/data security obligations. An update on health benefits and nutrition claims in the labeling and advertising of consumer products will also be provided, including recent litigation and regulatory/self-regulatory actions.
