Neighborhood Entrepreneur Law Project
Volunteer
NELP volunteers assist low to mid-income small business owners with a variety of transactional law issues, including: determining the best corporate structure for their business, going through the incorporation process, negotiating commercial lease agreements, drafting and reviewing contracts and protecting intellectual property rights. Volunteer attorneys agree to take on matters with us on a case-by-case basis and then work to resolve a client's specific legal issue. Volunteers also give presentations and meet with clients at clinics held at various community-based organizations around the city, providing entrepreneurs with basic legal information about the same topics mentioned above.
