Gil has in-depth career consulting expertise in working with lawyers at all levels, from major law firms and corporations. His experience includes consulting with both individuals who have chosen to remain practicing law and those who have decided to leave the law, leveraging their legal experience and skills. In addition to assisting lawyers in successfully managing the process of an immediate career transition, Gil has a growing practice in working with individuals needing to develop longer-term career management strategies.

Gil began his career in consulting and coaching in 1981 with John Crystal, a pioneer career counselor. Gil then joined J.J. Gallagher Associates, which became King Chapman Broussard & Gallagher and then moved to the Empower Group, where he built the Professional Service Firm practice. For the last six years prior to bringing his niche legal practice to Preferred Transition Resources, Gil led the legal career transition practice at a well known multidiscipline outplacement firm. He brings strong brand recognition and expertise to his work with lawyers and is known as a leader in this field. Gil’s passion for playing tennis has led to the opportunity to counsel world-class tennis players on how to leave the men's and women’s professional tours and start a second career. He received an MBA in Organizational Behavior as well as a BS in Economics from Penn State. Gil has been appointed a "Fellow Practitioner" by the Institute of Career Certification International, the highest level of accreditation in his field.
