The New York City Bar Association will be closed on Monday, February 20 for Presidents' Day.
Asim Rehman is President and co-founder of the Muslim Bar Association of New York (MuBANY), one of the nation's most active professional organizations for Muslim lawyers and law students. MuBANY provides professional services to its members, builds bridges with members of the legal community, and advocates for rights of the Muslim Americans. As a proponent of inclusion in both the legal profession and society, Mr. Rehman has helped develop employer resources regarding Islam and Muslims, has advised local community organizations on civic participation, and was invited to testify before the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights regarding federal government engagement with American Muslim communities on civil rights issues.
Mr. Rehman is currently Corporate Counsel at MetLife. In addition to advising in litigation matters, he is a member of the Professional Association Liaison subcommittee of MetLife Legal Affairs Diversity Committee where he helps keep MetLife’s legal professionals connected with minority bar associations across the city. He currently sits on the Multicultural Advisory Committee of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and is a 2012-2013 Fellow with the American Muslim Civic Leadership Institute.
