Asian Affairs Committee

The Asian Affairs Committee focuses on legal and policy issues and developments relating to Asia.  Its membership is comprised of New York lawyers with an interest in Asia, either because of having lived or worked there or because they are engaged in activities relating to one or more Asian countries.

The Committee is currently engaged in studying the alternative dispute resolution regimes of China , Japan , South Korea , India and Singapore .  During the 2010-2011 term of the Committee, it hosted several lawyers and judges from each of these countries.  The Committee is also planning several CLE programs relating to doing business in select Asian countries. In 2011-2012, the Committee’s objective is to produce a report that will provide an initial, credible and user-friendly road map, for lawyers representing clients engaged in commercial dispute in any of those countries.
