THE “NATIONAL POPULAR VOTE” CAMPAIGN
| When: |
Thursday, December 20, 2007, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. |
| Where: |
House of the Association, 42 West 44th Street (between 5th & 6th Avenues) |
Join the Election Law Committee as it gives a presentation on the “National Popular Vote” campaign. It is a campaign to circumvent the Electoral College without the necessity of a constitutional amendment. This would be accomplished by persuading a sufficient number of states to agree to award their Electoral College votes to the winner of the national popular vote, rather than the winner in their particular state. The program will be moderated by Jerry H. Goldfeder, Chair of the Election Law Committee.
Featured Speaker:
JAMIE RASKIN
Maryland State Senator
Professor of Constitutional Law and Director of the Program on Law and Government, American University
Light refreshments will be served. The event is free and open to the media and public.
