The State
of New York Court Interpretation:
Are
We Talking the Talk?
What: A panel discussion and update on the
issues involved in providing
courtroom interpreter
services to New York’s multilingual population.
When: Wednesday, April 5, 2006; at 6 p.m.

New York City Bar Association, 42 West 44 th
Street
The New York City Bar Association invites you
to join us for an examination of the complex
and pressing issues involved in court interpretation
in New York ’s multi-language environment.
The current practices in the New York courts
as well as future plans for recruiting and training
interpreters will be described. Representatives
from other jurisdictions and disciplines will
report on their efforts to deal with the issues.
Representatives of community groups will discuss
the experiences and concerns of their members.
The audience will have an opportunity to ask
questions of the panelists. The program is free
and individuals who require the services of an
interpreter are welcome to bring interpreters
with them.
