Fordham Law School Wins Regional Moot Court Competition At New York City Bar Association

New York , NY -- The Fordham University School of Law captured the regional round of the 56 th Annual National Moot Court Competition on Thursday, November 17, 2005 , at the New York City Bar Association. Law students on the winning team included Nicole S. Clayton, Diana M. Haladey and W. Owens Russell.

Brooklyn Law School took second place honors. Members of the Brooklyn Law School team included Noah J. Chamoy, Melissa J. Erwin, Brendan E. McKeon. Both teams will advance to the final rounds from January 30 thru February 2, 2006 .

Best Brief honors went to Fordham University Law School , and Best Runner-Up Brief went to Brooklyn Law School .

Best Individual Oral Argument went to Brendan E. McKeon of Brooklyn Law School . Second Place Best Individual Oral Argument went to Nicole S. Clayton of Fordham.

The final round of the competition was judged by Hon. Michael A. Cardozo, Hon. Ellen Gesmer, Hon. E. Leo Milonas, Hon. Andrew J. Peck and Stuart A. Summit, Esq.

The American College of Trial Lawyers (a national organization composed of approximately 2,000 of the leading advocates in the United States ) is a co-sponsor of the competition with the Association’s Young Lawyers Committee.

Twenty-eight winning and runner-up teams from 14 regions across the United States will compete in the final rounds of the National Moot Court Competition early next year.
