The Right Call for the Right Lawyer

The New York City Bar refers lawyers within the New York metropolitan area. Referrals outside

Costs: If you are consulting a lawyer because you or a family member has been injured, there is no consultation fee. These matters are typically handled on a “contingency fee basis so that the lawyer’s fee is a percentage of the amount recovered for you.

On matters that are typically handled on an hourly basis, the lawyers on our panels have agreed to reduce their initial ½ hour consultation fee to $35 which is remitted to the Bar Association to help pay for the cost of this service. After the first ½ hour consultation the lawyer is permitted to charge an additional fee provided that you are informed in writing what that fee will be and you agree to it.

When you call us a lawyer on our staff will answer the phone and help you to find an appropriate way to handle your legal problem. There is no charge for talking to our staff.
