The New York City Bar plays a leading role in championing issues for the betterment of the City and its legal community. Our origins are traced to 1870 when a group of lawyers fought to rid the courts, and City Hall, of corruption. Since its founding, the City Bar has expanded to a membership of over 23,000 and evolved to keep pace with the ever-changing legal community, while remaining true to its founding principles. Membership in the City Bar provides support for your professional life through various member benefits and programs, and if you haven’t already become a member, we hope you will consider joining.
