NYC Bar Association The Association of the Bar of the City of New York

The City Bar and City Bar Justice Center have created a central database of opportunities available for associates who have been deferred from their law firms. This resource will assist deferred associates and professional development staff at the law firms in locating a variety of available externship positions in New York.

Deferred associates can visit the database to view a variety of open public interest externship positions in a wide range of areas. Interested individuals can contact organizations directly to inquire about open positions.

If contacted by a Public Interest Organization not listed on our database about externship opportunities, please encourage them to visit the site. Organizations interested in posting opportunities for deferred associates can complete the attached survey form. For more information, please contact Elizabeth Kocienda at ekocienda@nycbar.org or (212) 382-6660.
