A recent study reports that two-thirds of women have non-linear career paths. Instead of pursuing linear promotions and advancement within a particular legal employment venue or practice area, many women take detours, breaks, or more circuitous routes to professional satisfaction. This panel will explore the advantages and challenges of taking a less traditional path by highlighting the stories of four women. These attorneys practice law as a second career, have taken breaks to raise children, have started their own businesses, or have pursued other non-legal endeavors in their careers. All are taking their own uniquely rich and varied paths to professional success and satisfaction.
