| The Residential Foreclosure Crisis: Where Do We Go From Here? Tuesday, March 29, 2011 6 PM - 8 PM Registration for this event is now closed The residential mortgage foreclosure crisis grew out of the real estate bubble and subprime lending frenzy of the last decade. The Federal government’s response was the Home Affordable Modification Program, rolled out in March 2009. New York State responded with substantive legislation in 2008 and again in 2009 addressed to mortgage lending and servicing, and mandating settlement conferences in every residential foreclosure action. This symposium will take a look at how these policy solutions have fared, what else might work, what new policies are on the horizon, and what all this means for the future of mortgage lending and homeownership in America.
