The practice of mindfulness offers a way to become calmer and more open while working in pressured and challenging environments. A calmer life both in and out of our work settings is essential to sustaining ourselves and being effective with our clients, our colleagues, our supervisors, and court personnel. Mindfulness meditation, reflections, and discussion will guide us in this exploration. Charmaine Henderson practiced family law in the Family Court of New York County for many years and now works as a special referee in the Supreme Court, Kings County, hearing financial issues connected with actions for divorce. She teaches mindfulness meditation in a variety of settings.
