| Books at the Bar Crossing Hitler: The Man Who Put the Nazis on the Witness Stand Tuesday, November 30, 2010 6 pm Event has expired. Registration for this event is no longer available. In 1931, left-wing lawyer Hans Litten was a private prosecutor who summoned political party hack Adolf Hitler to testify as to whether his emerging National Socialist Party, more familiarly known as the Nazi Party, was forming secret commando units to kill political opponents. Once Hitler became Germany's dictator, he paid Litten back by sending him to a concentration camp, where Litten died a martyr to justice.
