From Janet Jackson to Bono, from an off-the-mike remark of President Bush to the gritty realities of World War II and 9/11 dramas, broadcasters are finding themselves caught up in a cultural, political and legal battle over the limits of free expression and the power of the Federal Communications Commission to regulate the broadcast media. The Committee on Communications & Media Law will bring together key players from government, advocacy groups, and the broadcast industry, to debate the FCC's new crackdown on indecency and the legal challenges it has engendered.
