Wednesday, October 27, 2010 6-7:30 PM
Women litigators experience unique challenges and opportunities in courtrooms in New York. Does being a woman have advantages or disadvantages? The Women in the Courts Task Force of the New York City Bar Association invites you to join leading women advocates from a spectrum of litigation practices who share their observations and provide practice pointers for women. The panelists collectively represent a variety of clients from personal injury plaintiffs, the government, big corporations, to those most in need. Judge Shelley Chapman, a former partner at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP and Sidley Austin LLP and now a bankruptcy judge in the Southern District of New York, will lead a discussion of female litigators who practice in all these areas regarding their experiences in the courtroom and focus on how women litigators can more successfully meet the obstacles facing them.
