| Melding Public Interest and Firm Culture: Achieving Success at Your Externship and Back at Your Firm

The Deferred Associate Law Extern Project was devised in response to the growing pool of law school graduates who have been deferred for up to a year from a private law firm and have chosen to work in public interest law in New York City. Panelists will share their experiences working on pro bono efforts at their firms and offer advice on the skills that their firms would like the deferred externs to obtain from pro bono work over the course of the deferral period.
