New York lawyers faced with ethical questions regarding their own prospective conduct can reach the Ethics Hotline at (212) 382-6624. Operated by the Committee on Professional and Judicial Ethics, the hotline is staffed by committee members who can often answer the inquiry immediately over the phone. Otherwise, a timely written response is sent to the caller. The Committee also publishes written opinions on ethical issues of broad interest.
