Thank you Mr Dunne for recognizing and for addressing this violation of the ICCPR by Mr. Morsi. As you may already know, Mr Morsi did cancel his decree, however, the Supreme Court of Egypt continues to be terrorized by armed miltia members of the Muslim Brotherhood who are threatening and preventing judges from entering the building and doing their job. Mr Morsi insists that the persons performing this criminal act are peaceful protestors but live footage of the scene on Egyptian television as well as private recordings show otherwise. Testimonies of members of the Supreme Court of Egypt also portray othrwise. So please continue to urge Mr Morsi to abstain from these violations of civil and political rights which are a clear violation of the ICCPR.

Your position is too weak. Why can’t we have a sensible discussion about repealing the Second Amendment? It is easy to dispute that the Supreme Court has misinterpreted it, but the fact is, it has long been obsolete due to changes in technology. It was written when normally the only gun a person would carry was a single shot flint lock musket that was inaccurate and took minutes to reload from the muzzle. When anyone can now carry weapons that can kill people by the score, and maybe hundreds or thousands in certain venues, repeal should be discussed. Are we all that afraid of the NRA?

A.B.C.N.Y. performs a public service by rating the judicial candidates, and the ratings are presumed valid; however, the committee is secret in nature and refuses to say if they rate a candidate as not-approved if the candidate fails, declines, or refuses, to appear. Some not-approved candidates in the past told me that they did not appear (for whatever reason) for an interview and thus received an not-approved rating. Who knows?
